Nick Carter is the youngest member of the Backstreet boys and realises he will always be labelled "the cute one", but he sees it as a compliment. Although, now he's in his 20's he feels he may have grown out of his sweet-as-candy image.
Even though he is still a teenager, Nick says being in the Backstreet Boys has made him mature for his age though he hasn't lost his carefree attitude. He was born in James town, New York and lived there in Webber Road for four years until his family moved to
Florida where he lived in a retirement home for a year.
In forth grade, Nick played the lead in a school production, "Phantom of the Opera". By the age of twelve, he had won the 1992 New Original Amateur Hour on US TV, and went on to appear in commercials.
Shortly afterwards, Nick auditioned for Backstreet Boys. He also received an offer to work on The Disney Channel. Nick had to decide which he'd go for. Fortunately, he chose Backstreet Boys.
Although Nick was enjoying his singing outside, his school life became a nightmare. Other kids were jealous because he was allowed to leave school early and they would pick on him because he never played sports. Girls also gave him the cold shoulder because he didn't hang around with the cool guys. Who's got the last laugh now?!
